| Major
developments planned for Hollywood
The Argyle Civic Association is closely monitoring several major development projects on and around Hollywood Boulevard, all of which will impact the Argyle Avenue neighborhood. We hope that, with appropriate input from members of our Association and from other local residents, the impact will be positive. |

The Nederlander Producing Company is planning the "completion" of the historic Pantages Theater at Hollywood and Vine. The Pantages, as originally designed in 1929, was meant to include a 10-story office tower. Construction of the tower was scrapped when the great Depression hit. The original plans (see elevation, right) are still in existence and have been approved for use in the project, which is expected cost $75 to $100 million and take up to 4 years to complete. The Argyle Civic Association wholeheartedly endorses the completion of this Art Deco masterpiece! For more information, see the L.A. Times story.
